In the podcast with Dana Blouin, Sensfix CEO Balaji Renukumar talks about the Internet of Things and how Sensfix is altering the way we think about automation. In the case of new ideas, it is frequently the personal struggle that drives you to locate a market niche and produce your first product.
Sensfix’s expertise in the energy industry sparked the idea to reproduce the solution for smart maintenance of city lamps and apply it to other smart city assets, allowing for auto-identification of failures and maintenance needs without the participation of the owner.
All cities have infrastructure networks that provide electricity, communication, transportation, public lighting, and other services to their residents. When these aging infrastructures are replaced or upgraded, they are frequently done separately from one another, despite the fact that there is significant and untapped potential in merging and expanding these networks.
Currently, Sensfix cloud, smartphone apps, and web platforms integrated with IoT sensors operate with over 600 assets in 50+ townships across three countries, enabling assets such as streetlights, traffic lights, and so on to report faults instantly to owners and automatically call the nearest service personnel for repairs and maintenance, resulting in an Uber-like network.
In acknowledgment of the company’s breakthrough solution, the Malaysian government has requested Sensfix to undertake a Proof-of-Concept in Kuala Lumpur for smart city asset repairs and maintenance.
